Widener University issued the following announcement.
Keeping the Widener community healthy and safe this fall is everyone’s responsibility.
Whether you take or teach classes remotely or in person, or live on campus or elsewhere, the university reminds everyone of our strong ‘We’re All Widener’ principle and asks you to remain vigilant. Each person’s actions will affect the university’s ability to keep Widener safe.
These Steps Promote Good Health:
WEAR A MASK IN ALL PUBLIC PLACES
Everyone is responsible for covering their nose and mouth with a mask when around others, indoors and outdoors. Wearing a mask has been proven to significantly reduce the risk of coronavirus transmission to others. Read the Face Covering (Mask) Policy.
WASH YOUR HANDS OFTEN
Clean your hands with either soap and water for 20 seconds or a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60 percent alcohol. Hand sanitizer will be available in academic and administrative buildings, as well as hand sanitizer refill stations in key locations to refill personal sanitizer bottles.
KEEP A SAFE DISTANCE FROM OTHERS
Put at least 6 feet of distance between yourself and other people at all times. Meetings and events will take place virtually, except for approved in-person instruction.
USE THE SYMPTOM TRACKER TO EVALUATE YOUR SYMPTOMS DAILY
Everyone living on or coming to campus must download and log into #CampusClear, a daily health self-screening app. Complete the one-question daily self-survey to report COVID-19 symptoms and protect the community.
STAY HOME IF YOU'RE SICK
Anyone who experiences symptoms, tests positive for COVID-19, or has been been in close contact with a person who has tested positive needs to avoid contact with others. For the limited number of people living or working on the Widener campus, you should contact Student Health Services at 610-499-1183 or studenthealth@widener.edu, since your circumstances may necessitate quarantine. And definitely get in touch if you test positive and have been on campus in the last two weeks. Your health information will be kept confidential.
