WIDENER UNIVERSITY: Widener Announces New Trustees

Widener University issued the following announcement.

Widener is pleased to announce that Comcast Business executive Christian Nascimento and undergraduate Evan Davis will join the Board of Trustees.

“Our newest members, Christian Nascimento and Evan Davis, will be bring valuable expertise, insights, and commitment to the Board of Trustees and we are delighted to welcome them,” said Widener President Julie E. Wollman.

Their roles and experiences, both on and off campus, will result in meaningful contributions as we continue to advance the university’s commitment to an unparalleled student experience and agility in this time of rapid change. —President Julie E. Wollman

Nascimento is the vice president of product management at Comcast Business, a subsidiary of Comcast Corporation, which handles the sales, marketing and delivery of internet, phone and cable television to businesses.

After earning a bachelor’s degree at Widener, Nascimento went on to earn an MBA from Villanova University. He currently serves as an adjunct professor at Widener and is a member of the Dean’s Advisory Council in the School of Business Administration. 

My time at Widener, both from an educational and experiential standpoint, helped shape the person that I am today. I’m honored and humbled to have the opportunity to give back to Widener, especially at a time like this when there are unprecedented challenges to address. “Mr. Nascimento’s proven experience in an industry-leading organization will bring strategic and creative guidance to the table. I am confident that with his support and knowledge, we will continue to find innovative ways to advance Widener’s mission,” said Wollman. 

Davis, who will serve as the board’s student trustee, is a senior business analytics, finance, and operations management major with minors in accounting and economics. An active member of the student body, Davis is a School of Business Administration Ambassador, treasurer of Alpha Phi Omega co-ed service fraternity, a member of the Money Club, Phi Sigma Epsilon sales and marketing fraternity, a PRIDE Mentor, an Honors Program mentor, and an SBA peer advisor. Additionally, Davis serves as the junior editor of The Blue Route and Widener Ink literary magazines, a member of the Pride Activities Council, and earned his Oskin Leadership Institute certificate.

Helping people and giving back has always been important to me, whether through peer mentoring, engaging with perspective students, or organizing service events. Being selected for the Board of Trustees is the greatest opportunity I have to give back to the school which has given so much to me. —Evan Davis
